Abdulah Dabashy

Struggling with the earlier years of secondary education made me empathise with young people’s experiences and as such gave me a deeper level understanding of their hardships, which I now use at my work place to ensure pupils are supported in the best way possible.

In my last year of secondary school I became prefect which gave me the opportunity to speak on young peoples issues and directly advise trainee teachers on how to better manage behaviour. I also helped run a boys mental health group where we discussed various topics.

I am currently on a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship in which I work with a diverse community, my personal experience in education and my ethnic background have both helped in my engagement with pupils and parents.
